Software Engineer

Worked on marketing database projects for Alcon/CIBA Vision/Novartis, Bayer Animal Health, Clorox, DuPont Pioneer, Government Employees Health Association (GEHA), H&R Block, Invisalign, Michelin, Moen, T-Mobile and others. Performed support, troubleshooting, maintenance and updates to these projects in a MS SQL Server 2005 environment. Wrote or modified existing T-SQL (stored procedures/functions, reports, data manipulation, etc.). Supported Moen email campaigns for both trade (25k emails) and consumer (800k emails) market segments. Administrated the applications that handled data ETL processes for these clients and others.

Worked directly with Dell during the requirements specification, implementation, deployment and maintenance of several data and email marketing tools. Managed Dell email promotions in-house on hybrid Linux & Windows platform, sending marketing materials out to 92k email addresses on a monthly basis. Reduced the processing time for these email campaigns from three days to three hours. Monitored and administered two Linux and six Windows Server 2003 systems all dedicated to Dell e-marketing efforts. Provided program support directly to Dell stakeholders and participated in weekly status conference calls with Dell. In addition, traveled to multiple locations for on-site planning and application transition purposes. Administrated the applications that handled online loyalty programs for multiple groups within Dell. Analyzed technical processes and provided written documentation for existing systems. Provided functional/technical specifications for project proposals.

LAMP Developer

Placed at DATACORE Marketing, LLC to assist with several data and email marketing projects for Dell in a Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) environment. After the consulting period, Doug was hired full-time by DATACORE Marketing. Note that Doug was hired to work in the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP/Perl) environment and did so for about 1.5 years but was then asked to move over to the Microsoft environment due to changing priorities within DATACORE Marketing. Doug made the transition and learned the new technologies quickly. He was contributing in the Microsoft environment within a very short time (see KBM Group experience above for greater detail).
